What Invisalign is
Invisalign is a clear aligner system that straightens teeth using a series of custom-made, removable trays instead of fixed metal braces. Each tray moves your teeth a little closer to their target position, so the treatment is discreet and you can take the aligners out to eat and clean your teeth.
How long it takes
Most treatments run 12 to 24 months, depending on how much your teeth need to move. For it to work on schedule the aligners need to be worn about 22 hours a day, coming out only to eat, to drink anything other than water, and to brush and floss. You move to a fresh set roughly every one to two weeks.
How it is planned

What it can treat
Invisalign can correct overbites, underbites, crossbites, gaps and crowding. Some more severe cases may still be better suited to braces or another approach, which your orthodontist will tell you at the assessment.
Your visits and keeping the result
You will usually come in every 6 to 8 weeks so your orthodontist can check progress and hand over your next aligners. When treatment finishes you are given a retainer to hold your new smile in place.
